Osnovy, meaning ‘foundations’ in Ukrainian, reflects our mission to cherish good taste and critical thinking through works that reach our readers. Founded in 1992 by Salomea Pavlychko and Bohdan Krawchenko, Osnovy was the first Ukrainian publisher to feature flagship works by top thinkers and classical masterpieces. It has since expanded into art books on illustration, photography, and architecture, producing acclaimed editions in Ukrainian and English, becoming a respected name in Ukrainian publishing.
